CHILDCARE & BASIC FIRST AID + CPR COURSE:

Our respected nanny training has been developed by child care educators specialising in early child development and childhood education.

Our nanny training courses are intensive, practical and take place over 1 full day. The nanny training course focuses on the 6 common core skills, communicating with children, young people, their parents and carers, child and young person development, safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the child, supporting transitions, multi-agency working, sharing information, knowing your rights and responsibilities and professional development.

THE 1 DAY TRAINING COURSE COVERS:

• What items you will need to be a professional Nanny
• Understanding what a Nanny is and does
• How to: hold a baby / dress a baby / change a baby's nappy / bath a baby / burp a baby /calm a baby / assess a baby's wee and poop / bottle    preparation , feeding a baby and sterilising bottles/feeding utensils
• How to deal with a crying baby
• How to treat and deal with a toddler under different circumstances
• Understanding Nutrition for babies and toddlers
• Understanding baby and child safety in the home ( First Aid & CPR Essentials )

INFANT CARE SPECIALIST & MENTAL STIMULATION TRAINING COURSE

We are pleased to offer this highly respected course for those wishing to work as Maternity/Night Nanny or those wishing to gain further understanding of newborn care. The course covers every aspect of the Maternity/Night Nanny role.

2 DAY INFANT CARE SPECIALIST & MENTAL STIMULATION TRAINING COURSE: 

Suitable For: Experienced Nannies and Mother’s help

The 2 day Course Structure covers:

Breast/Bottle feeding and weaning

• Role and responsibilities of a maternity nanny
• The process of lactation
• Breast feeding including latching, positioning and difficulties.
• Expressing/using pumps.
• Colic and reflux Bottle feeding.
• First stages of puree and baby-led weaning.

General Newborn care

• Getting new born experience and working in people’s homes
• Settling unhappy babies.
• Bathing and Changing nappies
• Cord, skin and eye care.

• The correct preparation of infant formula
• Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SID’s)

Routine in Newborns

Sleep Training in Babies
